It was Monday around 9:45 in the morning, I had just dropped my son off at preschool and I was heading off to do some errands. My phone started ringing and I saw that it was my husband, Adam. He quickly blurted out - Babe, I was let go from my job. I could feel my body responding, my hands sweating, my heart rate increasing - my brain trying to rapidly process what I just heard. Adam could tell I was shocked, but he was calm, he assured me that this was a good thing. He was convinced that this was not a problem but rather an invitation from God to pursue his destiny.
Months prior to this situation, our family had been struggling- Adam's job was very stressful and he worked very long hours. We both were exhausted and often felt very empty, longing for life to be different. For years we had talked and dreamed that someday Adam would be able to start a business that would allow us to have time and financial freedom. We truly desired to do family, work, and life together. We prayed and sought God for wisdom on how we could turn this dream into reality, but for years we didn't have clarity.
However, On this chosen Monday, it was clear for Adam. He saw the path laid out before Him, he saw God's grace as he was given a 3-month severance package. We were able to see that as a man was closing the door on Adam, God was opening another door for us to walk through. So instead of listening to fear on that Monday, we chose to focus on God and his vision of hope for our future.
We have been living in this new reality for 5 months now and we know, more than ever, that God is faithful. God has provided for all our needs including giving us supernatural joy and peace as we have adapted to this new reality. This journey has not been without challenges, but God continues to direct our every step and remind us that he is a God of Hope. Seeing our future through the lens of hope allows us to confidently pursue our future because we know God is the author of our story! We believe with God on our side- All things are possible.
